Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I enroll my child?

    • Enrollment is open to the public. All families are eligible to apply. Because this is a public school, we must ensure that each child has an equal opportunity in attending the school. Therefore, if demand exceeds open spots in the school, students will be selected through a lottery process.

  • How will the lottery process work?

    • More details will be available as we get closer to our student recruitment phase. Students will be randomly selected to fill the class roster for each grade. An important thing to note however, once one child in a family has been granted acceptance, all other children are automatically granted a spot as well.

  • How much is tuition?

    • This is a public school, and therefore is tuition-free.

  • Which grades are available?

    • We will provide grades K-8 at full capacity. Our first several years will have limited grades offered (ie starting with six grades) and will we will increase grades with each continuing year until we reach K-8. The grades offered beginning in fall 2021 are still yet to be decided. Fill out our family interest form so we can better meet the needs of our community (link above).

  • Does GCOA have a religious affiliation?

    • No, we are a public charter school.

  • Where will the school be located?

    • We are actively working to secure a location. We will not be building for the first several years of operation.

  • What calendar will GCOA follow?

    • We will closely follow the Page Unified School District Calendar. However, please note we follow a four day week with classes only Monday - Thursday.

  • How big will the school be?

    • At full capacity, we will operate grades K-8. Each classroom will have about 22 students.

  • I’m interested in being involved, what can I do?

    • We’d love your help! If you have any expertise in legalities, marketing, or accounting, you are especially needed. Please contact us at

  • How will transportation to/from school work?

    • We are still working out these details. Please help us out by designating your means of school transportation on our family interest form (see link above).
